Briggs & Little are offering a pack of every one of their yarns for “snacking.”

In my last post, I said there would be prizes for the Knit Along, and we now have them finalized!

Our first prize for the Campaign for Wool 2021 Knit along is a pure lambswool scarf donated by Sykes & Ainley with a retail value of $85. The winner can choose between the McKenzie (shown) or Black Watch tartan.

Next, there is a fabulous prize pack from Briggs & Little containing everything you see in these two photos — yes, that’s a copy of Saltwater Mittens!

Finally, Canadian Guild of Knitters is offering up two one-year memberships, and, if you’re already a member, you’ll get your membership extended!

Prizes will be awarded by a random draw at the close of the Knit Along, which runs from 12:01 a.m. on October 1, 2021 through 11:59
pm. on October, 31, 2021.

But, that’s not all! Sykes & Ainley have also generously offered a 20% discount to ALL registered Knit Along participants on all the products on their site (except hand knotted rugs), creating an opportunity for you to enjoy their fine, Canadian woolens for yourself or for the people on your Christmas shopping list! Your discount code will be e-mailed to you when you register for the Knit Along and will be honoured for the duration of the Knit Along (see above).

All kinds of goodies from Briggs & Little are arranged on an olive tablecloth: 3 skeins of hand painted yarns, one in reds, one with yellow, peach and oarnage, and one with green, dark green and grey, a bottle of wool wash, a copy of Salt Water Mittens book; and lots of B&L goodies - a sweatshirt, pencil and note pad, label, button, mug, needle gauge and tape measure, drink holder and project bag, along with a full set of their colour cards

This is just part of the prize pack donated by Briggs & Little Woolen Mills located in Harvey NB.

This Knit Along is gaining momentum! Gather your needles and Canadian sourced wool yarn and help us celebrate Canadian Wool Month 2021. Send an e-mail to [email protected] with your postal address and full name to register!

Cynthia will also be arranging a “meet and greet” session or two on Zoom throughout the Knit Along so we can see how each other is doing.

The Campaign for Wool is a global endeavour initiated by its patron, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, in order to raise awareness amongst consumers about the unique, natural, renewable and biodegradable benefits offered by the fibre. The Campaign was launched in Canada by The Prince and The Duchess of Cornwall in Pictou, Nova Scotia during their 2014 May Royal Tour. Running in 13 different countries, The Campaign has a dual mission in Canada of educating consumers on the wonders of wool while actively developing opportunities to add value to the Canadian clip. Recently, The Campaign unveiled a new five-year strategy for the Canadian wool industry with a mission to revalue and rebrand Canadian wool at its heart.

Canadian Guild of Knitters has been serving Canadian knitters since 2002 and is dedicated to connecting knitters to knitting resources, activities, and fellow knitters. The Guild is pleased to be partnering with The Campaign for Wool on this Knit Along.
